Youtube: Youtube has revolutionized media since its launch back in 2005, allowing users to watch what they want, when they want. Users could upload their and share their videos without having to have a license and anyone could reach out to billions of users on youtube, all you need is a camera and a computer with an internet connection. Youtube had a far seeing eye in 2006 and decided to buy Youtube for $1.65 billion as they saw the potential of the site. Youtube had a massive impact on society, globally. Influencing loads and encouraging others. It helped spark the Arab spring in 2011, and encouraged
suicidal LGBT teens in America to come forward and seek help. This

has caught the attention of a lot of white house officials such as President
Obama. Youtube also allows people to express themselves in ways they cant on
regular TV because of censorship rules. Youtube doesn't hold any particular values as it's a streaming service that doesn't upload it's own content but Youtube is known to be filled with loads of cat videos and a very hostile comment section. I personally use Youtube often and even have
youtube channel with several videos reaching well over 100'000 views.
YouTube’s mission is to provide fast and easy video access and the ability to share videos frequently.

BBC news: The BBC news is the worlds largest news organization, broadcasting about 120 hours of radio and television each day. It also has a website that is accessible globally with a few exceptions due to strict government censoring laws. The BBC has been accused of biased reporting during the Iraq War by both pro-British and pro-Iraqi accusers. The BBC claims it's news coverage is neutral which I personally agree
with but there's a long list of accusations against the BBC's reporting on subjects
like the Israeli-Palestine war, multiple Indian political affairs, the EU referendum and
the recent US presidential election.
The BBC's mission statement: To enrich people's lives with programmes and services that inform, educate and entertain.

Netflix:

Netflix is one of the most popular streaming services globally with 86 million users worldwide and 47 million in the US alone. Netflix also has it's
own shows called Netflix Originals. These include popular and well received
shows such as House of Cards and Narcos.

Netflix's mission statement:

I made this logo using Photoshop. It was very simple to make, I just used the brush tool do paint colours on top of each others and playing with the blending mode to have them overlay each other. I created the text using the Menio font which I find nice and fitting. I then added a gradient to it to finish it off.
The logo is clean multi-coloured and minimalistic.
The colours are layered on eachother and melting together, representing the merge of multiple creative inputs all working together to create creative media.
The font is simple and legible with a gradient giving it a modern and metallic look which is what I'm aiming for because the intended target audience needs to know that I'm able to edit with modern equipment and that I'm up to date with the latest media practices.
One way I need to improve this logo is by adding flexibility or creating different versions of it to fit different types of media. Like Netflix for example, they have the logo where Netflix is written out for widescreen use and the ''N'' logo for smaller platforms. This is an essential step I have to take so I can adapt the logo in as many forms as possible.
The actual colour design might need to be changed as well as a lot of companies have adopted a similar logo which could be a trend that will end up short lived. Its important
that logos are able to withstand time.
If I were to animate this logo I'd have colour splatter on the screen with the text smoothly fading into the image.
Overall I think the logo is good, it suits it's industry and knows it's target audience.
